Guillaume Lavoie

Montreal City Councillor and Spokesman for the Official Opposition

Guillaume Lavoie est conseiller municipal de la Ville de Montréal. Il est porte-parole de l’Opposition officielle en matière de finances, de relations gouvernementales et de relations internationales. Il est également vice-président de la Commission sur les finances et l’administration.

Avant de faire le saut en politique, Guillaume a fait carrière en diplomatie publique, en politiques publiques et en relations internationales. Ayant vécu et travaillé sur quatre continents, il a été consultant auprès des secteurs public, privé et associatif, au Canada et à l’étranger.

Chargé de cours à l’École nationale d’administration publique, membre de la Chaire Raoul-Dandurand (Université du Québec à Montréal) et observateur international, il intervient régulièrement dans les médias sur l’actualité internationale et la politique américaine. Il est le fondateur et ex-directeur exécutif de Mission Leadership Québec et est le co-fondateur du Collège néo-classique.

Titulaire d’une maîtrise en administration publique internationale (Énap), il détient un BA en relations industrielles et des certificats en administration et en droit (Université Laval). Nommé Public Policy Scholar au Woodrow Wilson Center à Washington, DC, Guillaume est également Fellow de Action Canada, de l’Alliance des civilisations des Nations-Unies et Boursier de la Fondation Jeanne-Sauvé.

Guillaume Lavoie is a Montreal City Councillor and the Official Opposition’s spokesperson for finance, government relations and international relations. He is also Vice-President of the Finance and Administration Committee at City Hall.

Before entering politics, Guillaume Lavoie worked in public diplomacy, public policies and international relations. Having lived and worked on four continents, he has been a consultant for the public, private and associative sector in Canada and abroad.

A lecturer at the National School of Public Administration (Énap), a member of the Raoul-Dandurand Chair (Université du Québec à Montréal) and an international observer, Guillaume has been a frequent commentator and analyst in the media on international current events and American politics. He is the founder and former executive director of Mission Leadership Québec and co-founder of the Collège néo-classique.

Guillaume holds a Masters in international public administration (Énap) and a BA in industrial relations and certificates in administration and law (Université Laval). A Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC, Guillaume is also a Fellow of Action Canada, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and a Scholar of the Jeanne-Sauvé Foundation.
